Which Carb Is The Best For Me?

I love carburetors. I think the way they work and what they do are really cool, and I like talking about them. I really like to see people add carbs to their stock or big bore motor, because it really can make a big difference.

When OEM manufacturers design new models they typically err on the side of caution when it comes to the carburetor.  It is understandable why they do this, because they are looking to keep the bike as reliable as possible. The last thing Yamaha ever wants to hear is that people are blowing up the forums talking about how the carb on their new bike failed. I am not saying that Yamaha or any other manufacturer isn't concerned with performance, because they are.

When you have a huge corporation there is just a lot of factors to consider when designing a vehicle. So anyways, that is why there is a worldwide enormous market for after market carbs. Keihin is one of the greatest carb manufacturers in the world, and their products are particularly popular for ATV's and dirt bikes. Keihin PWK carbs work really well on two stroke applications, and they are the most popular carbs we sell. Lectron Fuel Systems makes the best two stroke carbs out of anybody, but Keihin makes excellent carbs that cost a bit less.  Bigger is not always better.

It is important to get the right carbs for the right size motor. We have an entire section of our online store dedicated to carburetors, and we can set you up with the best carb for your application and riding style.

See you on the trail!
