Whats Up With Yamaha?

Whats Up With Yamaha?

From 2004 to 2008 Yamaha was on the cutting edge of our industry, coming out with three exciting vehicles - YFZ450, Raptor 700, and Rhino 660 and 700. The YFZ led the way for 450cc sport ATV's. The Raptor 700 overhauled the entire industry with its trail stomping power and fuel injected motor.  The Rhino was the first popular sport side x side. I owned a YFZ450 and a Rhino 700 and I loved both of them. I loved taking my YFZ to the track and the dunes. What a great bike.  But, I was getting older and my daughter was getting older so it was easy to fall in love with riding the dunes out at Glami...

Raptor 700 815cc Big Bore Stroker...

The Raptor 700 has been one of Yamaha's greatest successes, and there are a lot of options when it comes to motor performance. There have typically been two popular big bores for the 700, the 105.5mm 734cc and 108mm 770cc. The 734cc kit is more popular, mainly because it is a drop in cylinder. The 108mm big bore requires you to bore your crankcases for it to fit. This must be done because the cylinder skirt on a 108mm cylinder is much thicker with a larger OD than the 105.5mm. The cylinder needs to be this way to protect the skirt and the bore integrity. That 108mm piston is really big! So mos...

Kibblewhite Valve Technology...

Kibblewhite has been making valve train components for over 78 years. Think about that.  These guys were making valves before World War II. When Kibblewhite started Lou Gehrig was the biggest name in baseball. That is a long time. These guys have spent decades refining and improving their design and manufacturing procedures to make a really good product. There are others out there, but let's be honest. When you think of valves for a dirt bike or ATV Kibblewhite is the first thing that comes to mind. I have sold thousands of Kibblewhite products and seen thousands of motor builds with Kibblewhi...

Brute Force Big Bore Power...

One of my favorite ATVs is the Kawasaki Brute Force. I love the design of the motor and the power those machines put out. Our motor rebuild kits for the Brute Force 750 are one of my favorites. When assembling those kits I had to restrain myself because I wanted to offer about 10 different types, but I felt that would get confusing. There are some awesome after market performance upgrades for the Brute Force. Sometimes the cost can get overwhelming due to the fact that you have to buy two of everything. That is why we wanted to create different packages that can really get your Brute some powe...

RZR 800 Motor Rebuilds...

The Polaris RZR 800 is a great machine, and it blew up the side x side market as well as making Polaris once again a major player in the ATV industry. Just think how much different it is at our favorite ATV riding spots from 10 years ago. You would maybe see a handful of side x sides but mostly all ATV's. Now side x sides have taken over. The whole industry has changed. Polaris UTV's have always been popular, but remember when the best Polaris sport four wheeler was the Predator 500? RZR 800 rebuild kits are one of the most popular ones we sell and for good reason. There are a ton of them out ...

Which Carb Is The Best For Me?

Which Carb Is The Best For Me?

I love carburetors. I think the way they work and what they do are really cool, and I like talking about them. I really like to see people add carbs to their stock or big bore motor, because it really can make a big difference. When OEM manufacturers design new models they typically err on the side of caution when it comes to the carburetor.  It is understandable why they do this, because they are looking to keep the bike as reliable as possible. The last thing Yamaha ever wants to hear is that people are blowing up the forums talking about how the carb on their new bike failed. I am not sayin...
